Camper Recruitment continued for HFH Summer Camps 2019, with all three HFH residences hosting their annual Family Fun Day, featuring snacks, giveaways, and Camp Recruiters on hand to answer parents' questions, assist with camper applications, and spread the word about Camps Lanowa and Wakonda. Last month, the Williamsbridge Wolverines debuted their first film, featuring skits written, directed, and acted out by the kids themselves. At Williamsbridge Recreation, every month brings a new theme for educational engagement, often focusing on topics underserved in the classroom. The highlight of last month's science theme was a KidCare-sponsored trip to the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ where students engaged with exhibits exploring the human body, animal science, and mechanics.
Summer day campers from Prospect and Williamsbridge were in for a treat when Tamara Shenkle, Owner and Executive Chef of Amoraco Catering, visited them for a healthy, hands-on cooking demonstration. Shenkle had participated in this spring's KidCare NYC Jop Hop, an event where young participants spoke to professionals from different industries speed-dating style
