The Culinary Center at Allie’s Place recently held its first Food Safety Workshop, giving students an introduction to the certifications, licenses, and permits that can help open doors to opportunities in the food and hospitality industry.
Led by Culinary Program Supervisor Derrick Holman, students learned about requirements for food stands, food trucks, and temporary events in NYC, as well as ServSafe training and certifications they can add to their professional credentials.

Island Family Residence opened in July 2023. The site serves up to 110 families with children on any given day.
