Family Services is at the core of the support that HFH provides. Allie’s Place has a dedicated Family Services team who guides residents in creating an individualized plan to move on to permanent housing. This includes a Director of Family Services, Case Managers who work one-on-one with each family, Client Care Coordinators (social workers) who provide more specialized assistance, trainings, and referrals, and Housing Specialists who focus on housing needs—from criteria for housing subsidies to apartment referrals. In addition, on-site substance use treatment services are provided through Camelot.

Allie’s Place is also home to a state-of-the-art culinary employment training facility with 3,200 sq. feet of culinary, baking/pastry arts, and barista training classrooms to prepare HFH residents, and members of the Soundview neighborhood, for careers in the food industry.

Allie’s Place Center for Culinary Education & Employment is the cornerstone of Employment Services at APFR. Customer service, safety, and kitchen sanitation skills are part of all coursework to ensure that program graduates are prepared for careers. Resume prep, interview coaching, and job referrals are part of the program.
