The Allie’s Place Afterschool & Recreation program is open to Allie’s Place residents and the surrounding community, serving children ages 5 to 16 in a fun, safe, and enriching environment where participants can build academic confidence, develop friendships, and feel a strong sense of belonging.
Students in the program selected the Allie’s Gator as their mascot, helping to build pride, ownership, and community. Open Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m., the program offers homework support, sports, leadership activities, and field trips tailored to students’ interests.
A typical afternoon begins with time to unwind after school, enjoy a snack, play games, color, or connect with teachers and friends. Students then participate in homework support, enrichment activities, and family-style dinner before dismissal.
Sample activities include dance and movement with DMF Youth, which also incorporates social-emotional learning; one-on-one tutoring; STEAM lessons; outdoor play in the on-site backyard and sprinkler; and arts and crafts.
