In the News: Students in Shelter-Based Culinary Program Serve Mothers’ Day Luncheon for Homeless Moms Bronx Times recently featured a Mothers' Day luncheon hosted by Allie’s Place Center for Culinary Education & Employment. Moms from Allie's Place and other HFH Family Residences were invited to enjoy a multi-course meal prepared and served by graduates of the Culinary program—not only providing an invaluable opportunity for students to showcase their newly acquired culinary skills in a food industry setting but also offering the moms a well-deserved moment of pampering and appreciation. Welcome to Allie’s Place Center for Culinary Education & Employment

Allie’s Place Center for Culinary Education & Employment is an employment training and placement center—located in the Soundview neighborhood of the Bronx—that prepares adult students for employment in a variety of food industry settings, including commercial and institutional kitchens, restaurants, cafes, and cafeterias. As Seen on News 12 The Bronx Yesterday, NYC Council Member Amanda Farias visited Allie’s Place Center for Culinary Education & Employment on the 3rd day of the Barista job-training course—where students learn to operate a pop-up coffee shop where they take orders, prepare drinks, and serve customers. Her visit focused on the importance of workforce development programs for the vitality of our neighborhoods and city, as a whole. She met with HFH Deputy Executive Director Gretchen Hernandez, Allie’s Place Administrator Julissa Lantigua, Assistant Chef Instructor Jayda Gabriel, and graduates of the Barista program. It was a great pleasure having her and we look forward to working together in the future! Shout out to News 12 The
