Family Services staff at Williamsbridge designed a six-week workshop for parents to visualize the intersection of homelessness, mental health, unemployment, family, and love through the assembly of vision boards.
According to staff, the workshop was intended to create “a safe place for clients to express their past sufferings and present distress through dialogue and open discussion.”
By offering participants a network of support and a medium for expression, the workshop “allowed for healthy ideologies and positive future ideas, which were then placed on their [participants’] vision boards.”
Williamsbridge Family Services previously organized a ‘Celebrate Your Greatness‘ event, intended to nurture confidence in parents at Williamsbridge through free workshops, haircuts, makeovers, and interview tips.
