Application & Enrollment

The Culinary Center at Allie’s Place, run by the nonprofit HFH, is a job training and workforce development center that prepares adult students for careers in the food and hospitality industry. This program is offered at no cost to applicants who meet the following requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must possess a valid form of identification (driver’s license, state-issued ID, or passport)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Students receive instruction in three core areas:

  • Culinary Essentials – foundational cooking techniques, knife skills, food safety and sanitation, kitchen equipment use, and introduction to regional flavor profiles
  • Pastry Arts – baking fundamentals, mixing and measurements, temperature control, kitchen math, and basic decoration
  • Hospitality & Front-of-House Operations – customer service, restaurant operations, and food and beverage service
