About the Center

The Culinary Center at Allie’s Place is a Bronx-based job training program dedicated to preparing adult students, ages 18 and older, for meaningful employment in the culinary industry. Our goal is to equip individuals with the practical skills, confidence, and professional proficiency needed to succeed in a wide range of food service settings, including restaurants, cafés, and commercial kitchens.

Our 60-hour base program in Culinary Essentials, Pastry Arts, and Hospitality prepares graduates with the hands-on skills and industry knowledge needed for entry-level roles in the field. Advanced workshops and seminars offer continued learning opportunities on a flexible, year-round schedule.

Students learn directly from highly experienced chef instructors in a condensed timeframe, while also working with employment specialists who provide guidance on professionalism, workplace expectations, and career development. This integrated approach ensures that graduates are both technically skilled and prepared to thrive in various work environments.

The Culinary Center at Allie’s Place is operated by HFH, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Programs at HFH family residences are supported by a range of partners, including individuals, foundations, corporations, and government agencies.

HFH welcomes both monetary and in-kind contributions. Donations to the Culinary Center at Allie’s Place directly support program resources—helping provide hands-on training, equipment, and opportunities for participants to build skills and succeed in the food industry.
