This spring, Homes for the Homeless enjoyed an active partnership with Changing the Odds. Based out of the Morris Heights Health Center, Changing the Odds is a positive youth development project for teens in multiple Bronx high schools. These students have volunteered their time at both our Prospect and Williamsbridge Family Inns, and have done a variety of projects at each. Children at Prospect spent afternoons doing arts and crafts, reading short stories with volunteers to improve their literacy skills, and making Mother's Day cards. Williamsbridge hosted their first ever Spring Field Day, where children had a chance to participate in various outdoors games and activities with volunteers. Our partnership with Changing the Odds has brought a lot of joy to our Bronx children, and we cannot wait to work together again once the students are back in school come September.
